These are the first shots I made with my new Canon 550D/Rebel T2i. I had a 50 mm 1.8 lens and the diafragma was here 1.8 I didn’t do any colour correction.

Amateur can be a typographical error dear. By the way the model looks into the camera at 0.57sec. Shift focus is a deliberate style , like when you shift attention sometimes for a psychological impact -like a reverse cut. All the best . I still want to know what is the magnification you can achieve with this – in projection.

@dawasta However, their build quality is completely different. The 50mm 1.8 is ALL plastic and that includes the mounting ring… Which means durability is not a plus. The 1.4 is more expensive because the build quality is much better, hard plastic and metal.

i don’t discourage people, however it is better to keep a critic as a friend. Been a long time. What did i say ? That the shots needed stability ? Some shots are not candid in the true sense. Sorry , but all the best . Hope to see some professional release from you. Some places the framings are good but the roving camera needs to plan compositions in movement.This cam – is why I browse it’s results compared to 7D and Mark 2.How does it project on a large screen ?

It’s a matter of price first :
50mm 1.8 -> 100€,
50mm 1.4 -> 400€,
50mm 1.2 -> 1500€
1.8 and 1.4 are equal (in quality)…

how did u do the focus ? did u just simplely turn the lense ?
if the playback on your computer is skipping then it may just be your computer doesnt have enough processing power. Especially with 1080p, its a large file. my older macbook had the same problem. what i did was use a video conversion program called mpeg streamclip and converted the video clip to an apple native file.It compressed it a bit but nothing noticable. Now my computer can handle the HD files. and when i use final cut pro to edit, i dont need to render it as much bcuz of the conversion.

the 50mm 1.8 lens is really amazing.. im having so much fun shooting video with it.. it is also perfect for low light conditions..i have a few videos on my page i shot with my t2i using that lens..

@yoserain The 50mm is a great.. and olmost every shot looks great.. But to make a nice video a wide angle lens is necessary! But if I where you I should invest 100$ and have a lot of fun with it!

@rainvedio2005 I dont really know what you mean with not smooth, but maby your shutter speed is to high.. Next to the button to make photos there is a little wheel, if you turn that all the way to the right your shots might be smoother..
